gluten free vegan cinnamon rolls

March 14, 2013 by Sarah 8 Comments

Let me start by saying, cinnamon rolls just might be one of the greatest baked goods ever invented.  Warm, soft yeast dough, intwined with cinnamon and sugar.  A gooey, pull-apart center and covered with a simple vanilla glaze.  Seriously the work of a genius.  I wish I came up with such a beautiful creation! I have made cinnamon rolls many times, especially before our adventures in gluten free.  They are a family favorite and always make an appearance in our house on ... read more

guest post…dairy free marshmallow pops

March 12, 2013 by Sarah Leave a Comment

St. Patrick's Day is coming up this week so it's time to get creative and...think green!  Today I'm sharing an easy and fun recipe for dairy free marshmallow pops over at Ask Anna.  Aren't they so cute? I'm diggin' marshmallow pops right now because they couldn't be easier to make.  Dipped in a dairy free frosting (tinted any color you like), then festive sprinkles.  They are so versatile and can be made for any occasion.  A simple treat that your kids will love to ... read more

March 11, 2013 by Sarah 29 Comments

I LOVE getting packages in the mail!  Have I told you that?  No matter what, it sure does make my day a bit brighter.  It could be a simple gift card, new makeup, or a pair of Toms.  It's even better if it's a box filled with gluten free goodies!  I recently received a complimentary box from Gfreely.  There were so many new products to try out...I couldn't wait to dig in! Gfreely is a company that delivers a monthly box, right to your house.  It's filled with ... read more

gluten free vegan vanilla cupcakes

March 7, 2013 by Sarah 59 Comments

I have another pretty exciting reason to celebrate today. I have FINALLY come up with a recipe for light, fluffy gluten free vanilla cupcakes! I can't even tell you how many vanilla cupcake recipes I have tried. They were either too dense, too tasteless, too gummy, or too crumbly. These my friends, are none of those things. The texture is perfect. The vanilla shines bright. Did I mention they are egg and dairy free too? So easy to put this recipe together as most of you already have these ingredients in your gluten free pantry. Look no further for a simple, go-to vanilla cupcake recipe. This is it!

Light, fluffy vanilla cupcakes with a whipped, creamy vanilla buttercream. These gluten free vegan vanilla cupcakes are not only allergen free, they are also perfect for any celebration! Today calls for a celebration. You know why? It’s my 100th POST!!!  I can't even believe it. Crazy! I started this blog over 9 months ago and it has been such a joy. I have felt so blessed from all of my readers and their beautiful words of encouragement. You are the reason I am in the kitchen, ... read more

vegan coconut rice pudding

March 3, 2013 by Sarah 24 Comments

One dessert that I am secretly in love with...pudding.  Chocolate, vanilla, tapioca, banana. I just love how it is such a simple, comforting dessert. Now I'm not talking about the boxed powder stuff that you mix with milk and it magically gets thick. No, no, no. I'm talking about homemade, from scratch pudding.  It's made with only a few ingredients so there is no reason you can't make it yourself. It may not be instant, but it's so worth the time it takes to make! The other night I got ... read more

gluten free carrot zucchini cake

March 2, 2013 by Sarah 3 Comments

How is it already March?  Seriously.  February was such a busy month for us.  We had family in town for a week, Kevin and I went to the GFAF Expo, we celebrated the day of love and I feel like there was something else....oh yeah, I turned 31.  This birthday was not as eventful as turning 30.  I don't really feel much older, but I must say it is still weird to be in my "thirties."  Not a bad thing, just weird.  With each year that goes by, I just seem to feel ... read more

guest post…gluten free vegan lemon ginger sandwich cookies

February 26, 2013 by Sarah 1 Comment

Anyone else love lemon desserts as much as I do?  One of the most fragrant fruits that gives your homemade treats such a BURST of flavor! Over at Ask Anna, I'm sharing my recipe for Gluten Free Vegan Lemon Ginger Sandwich Cookies.  Soft and chewy cookies, with the tartness of fresh lemon zest and the spiciness of candied ginger.  A beautiful pair indeed.  I took these cookies a step further and added a creamy lemon filling.  With Spring quickly approaching, it's the ... read more

dairy free mint chocolate chip ice cream

February 21, 2013 by Sarah 3 Comments

I feel like I've been holding out on you guys.  I made this recipe last month and I'm finally sharing it with all of you.  So sorry!  I bought my husband an ice cream maker for Christmas (or was it for me?) and have been experimenting with flavors.  It was my first time making my own dairy free ice cream, using coconut milk.  Lots of choices, but I knew in my mind there was only one type of ice cream this girl couldn't wait to try. Mint chocolate chip is my favorite ... read more

dairy free mocha breakfast smoothie

February 20, 2013 by Sarah 5 Comments

My weekday mornings are pretty consistent.  I get Kyri up so she can start getting ready for school.  She is able to do most things on her own (get dressed, eat breakfast, brush her teeth), but I just have to be her motivator.  Kaden just wants his cup of warm, organic rice milk when he wakes up and he's good.  This mama, however, needs a morning pick-me-up to get her ready for the day.  Sometimes a cup of coffee just won't do.  I need something with substance. I came up with the idea of ... read more
